When can I introduce a comforter or security toy?
Safe sleep guidance recommends a clear infant sleep space in the early months. Many caregivers use a comforter only during pre-sleep soothing, then reintroduce it in the cot once baby shows reliable rolling and strong head control (often around 7–12 months). Always observe your baby and follow local guidance.
Try tonight
- Use comforter only during settling (not in the cot) until around 7 months.
- At 7+ months, try placing it loosely in the cot for a nap first.
- Monitor safety; remove objects if baby is restless.

Nailed transition from co-sleeping back to sons own bed ★★★★★
As a mother of a 2 year old boy who has never warmed to any kind of comforter to sleep with other than me or twirling my hair, and co-sleeping in my bed, I was very skeptical as I thought he'd be too old and wasn't sure it'd help us. I was desperate to try anything as for months and months he hadn't and wouldn't sleep in his own bed, and I am so so glad I chose to try riffraff Bandit! Straight away he took to it, and the music lullaby! He became introduced as part of nap and sleep routine and within 2 weeks my son happily now take bandit to bed at night and falls asleep and even for more amazingly without me even in the room. During the day time he will grab bandit and press play on the music as a que he is ready for a sleep, music on and he is out to it in no time! The two of them have a special bond! I am still in shock (especially about the new night time routine) My son may call it his "teddy bear" but I call it my life savour! Thanks guys!! Will be using for next baby from birth, with white noise. Highly recommend.

Obsessed ★★★★★
We tried to introduce two other comforters to our girl from about four months old, but she didn’t take to them. I bought Clover one night after a friend recommended Riff Raff to me and from the moment we unboxed her, my daughter was obsessed! So handy to have the dummy attachment and my daughter knows once the lullaby starts that it’s time to sleep. She has just learnt to walk and it is so sweet watching her walk around cuddling Clover. Her Riff Raff has also been an amazing transition item for daycare and her educators say it has been a great soother for her during the day if she’s ever unsettled. Absolutely love it and recommend Riff Raff to all of our friends with bubs now!

Super cute and ★★★★★
We introduced Kirra the Koala to my little lady at around 5 months and she took to her fairly quickly. She loves stroking the soft material as she is feeding and to help her self soothe at nap time and in between sleep cycles. I don’t find her to be overly reliant on it but Kirra definitely helps calm her when she’s upset. From someone who has been trying to decide whether or not to purchase a Riff Raff comforter since my first child was born in 2016 I can say I am definitely happy that I finally went ahead with purchasing this time around. :)
