Where should I place a white noise machine or sleep toy?
Position your white noise device or sleep toy across the room, ~1–2 metres from the cot, and angle it away from baby’s face. Keep anything that makes sound out of the cot for young infants. Adjust placement if the sound feels direct or stimulating.
Try tonight
- Place it on a shelf or dresser across the room (about 1–2 m away).
- Angle the speaker away from baby’s face.
- Monitor whether the noise feels too direct; reposition if needed.

Baby loves it ★★★★★
We purchased a second of the same Fox Riff Raff because our baby boy loves his foxy so much … The sight of fox and the calming white noise with heartbeat fast became a sleep cue for our baby. … Also great for naps on the go, if our little one is due for a nap when out we’ll turn on and give him fox in the pram or car seat and it helps him drift off.

We Love Riff Raffs ★★★★★
I can put him down in his cot drowsy, switch on the white noise and he will fall asleep on his own without needing cuddles from mummy and daddy. … Overall they help my little ones to sleep, and they’re an adorable comfort piece that I have recommended to friends.

Worth every cent ★★★★★
He loved the white noise and we’ve just switched to the lullaby. If we are trying to get him to settle all we have to do is click Bandit’s ear for sound and he calms straight away. … He will hold Bandit and scrunch him up into a cuddle and goes off to sleep. I owe this all to Bandit.
